Parent must accompany children under 7 around the course,
Parent(s) can ride, walk or run. We do not charge the parent!!!!
Ages and courses
The courses are by length and how tricky they are not by age. However, there are some restrictions with minimum and maximum ages - please check General Info page for full details.
The courses are unsuitable for trainer wheels - so no trainer wheels or balance bikes!!
Whilst the event is primarily aimed at 5 - 13 year olds children younger or older can participate. For those under 5 years they must be competent off road on a two wheeler, or can go on a trailer bike behind a parent or in a bike seat!! Course are not suitable for balance bikes.
Parents wishing to ride around the medium or long course with a child will need to be with their child at the back of the 'pack'.
Bike Checks
Bikes should be checked by a bike shop, prior to the event. Particularly make sure your brakes and tyres are in good condition. Recommended shops -if none of these are near you please use your local shop. For logistical reasons stickers are not issued.
Clothing
Suitable cloting is important , not just so kids keep; dry, warm / cool (depending on weather), but it also can save lots of grazes, cuts etc. So we suggest a water proof top if weather is looking damp, T shirts are fine if weather is okay, otherwise warm long sleeved top and long shorts. Please make sure your child wears sports shoes / trainers NOT sandels / open toed shoes or crocs!!!
Safety
Bike helmets and suitable shoes must be worn. NO caps or beanies to be worn under helmets.
Tthe start and finish areas are restricted to participants only.
Marshals, directional arrows and markers will be on the course to direct you. You must obey their instructions.
The race directors decision on all race matters is final.
Qualified first aid personnel will be at the venue and marshals will be out on the course.
Parking will be in a restricted area at each event away from the course. Children should not ride their bikes in the parking area.
