Directions: The Victoria Esplanade is situated on the eastern side of Palmerston North. Event registration is situated on the river bank at the south end of the Esplanade which can be accessed turning right at the end of Ruha Street (off Park Road) or by walking down a track between the Motor Camp and Miniature Railway station in the Esplanade.

Parking:The main car parkcan be accessed from the Esplanade entrance beside the Lido Swimming Centre and is located besidethe MiniatureRailway in the Esplanade.
Course: Along the riverside bridle track and native bush Esplanade trails. The trails are a mixture of lime, gravel and tar seal pathways. It is mostly flat single trail, with some undulations.

Children pick up their Jams packs and water bottles at registration, then receive a medal when they finish their course.
Any event merchandise ordered will be given out at registration.
Registration - 9 years and over - 9.30 - 10.10 am
8 years and under - 10.15 - 11.00 am
There will be a briefing just before each age category starts. EVERYONE must attend, so make sure you are there and listening hard!
Starts - vary by course and numbers at each event, the order of starts is as follows;
11+ yrs - approx 10.30
9 - 10yrs
7 - 8yrs
6yrs and under
Detailed directions to venue
Travelling from the Hawkes Bay/Wairarapa through the Manawatu gorge turn left before the Manawatu River and travel down through Aokatere and into Palmerston North across the Fitzherbert Bridge. Turn left at the second set of lights onto Park Rd. FromWellington, Taranaki or North, make your way across the city to Fitzherbert Ave (the main eastern arterial road from the Square in the centre of the city out to the Massey Bridge) and turn right on Park Rd.
The event is based at the Lido end of the Esplanade trails. The Manawatu Club
We have started regular weekly junior rides, Thursdays 4.30pm. Check the club website calendar for the venue as these may change from week to week for variety.
There will also be some weekend rides just for the junior riders. Contact the ride leader and come along and find out how much fun mountain biking is.
A summer weeknight race series will begin in February. Thursdays Feb 12th, Feb 19th, Feb 26th and Mar 5th followed by the Kahuterawa Challenge weekend race on Sunday 15th March. Suitable for most competent riders, includes a variety of age groups and male/female classes. Details will be updated on the Club website. There are heaps of rides for all ages going on all the time including more happening in the DH area.
