Courses, Age-groups and Awards

Cross country courses
- three categories:
parent and child 5 to 6
approximately 3 km,
7 to 10 years
4.5 -5.5 km,
11 to 13 years
9.5 -10.5 km, (in each category girls can go separately from the boys).
Distances are approximate and will vary between centres depending on the terrain.

Skills
and obstacle areas
learn new skills and have some awesome fun.

For the big kids -
Skill awards -
Only open to 10 to 13 year olds
, with separate prizes for boys and girls.

Exclusive competitor T-shirts
as a great reminder of the event. These need to be ordered with your entry and are
given out at the events, and we cannot do exchanges on the day

We will email out event newsletters, (unfortunately we are unable to mail these) for which we need an email address. This information will NOT be given or sold to any other party.

It costs nothing to receive Twitters, there is no database kept, and you will receive latest information direct to your mobile phone.

Event Day Registration
- Due to numbers - Wellington and Christchurch will have different registration times - see relevant pages
- Times:
9 years and over
9.30 - 10.10am
8 years & under
10.20- 10.50am - Participants need to register before participating.

Jams stickers
- each child will be given a Jams sticker this must go on the bike
handle bars, only chidlren with these on their bike will be able to
participate in the Jams or go on the skills area.
- There will be a
briefing
just before each section starts, EVERYONE must attend, so make sure you are there and listening hard!

There will be NO late entries on the day.
Start Times
- Because every course is different, the number of kids at each
centre and each age group varies, we cannot give definite start times.
However the order is: 1.
11 yrs and over
2.
9/10 years
3.
7/8 years
4.
6 years and under

Prizes
- Everyone that completes the course will get a MEDAL and Waterbottle.
- There will also be spot prizes, including an Avanti Black Thunder bike at each event.
- To be eligible for a spot prize you need to be present.
- There will be
no prizes for place getters as the emphasis is on fun,
giving it a go and completing the course.
- There will be prizes for best boy and girl in the skills competitions
Bike Checks
Bikes should be checked by a bike shop, prior to the event. Particularly make sure your brakes and tyres are in good condition. Recommended shops -if none of these are near you please use your local shop. For logistical reasons stickers are not issued.
PUSH PLAY Schools Participation Award
The Participation Awards will be presented to the two schools in each centre that have the highest participation (on a per head basis) and greatest total number of kids participating.
